ACT MANUFACTURING is a family owned and run business which has been operating for over 30 years. It was established in 1989 by the late Dr. John Hancock to manufacture the patented ACTCHEM™ RANGE and branched out to include specialised products that Dr. Hancock was asked to develop for specific problematic areas of industries.
Our aim is to minimise the effects of raw material variations and to produce consistent products year after year. We do not use any reclaimed raw materials in our products and use instead virgin raw materials which often has to be imported. This causes our products to have a slightly higher initial cost but the quality of material is far more superior.
For each and every batch of product made, a test certificate is supplied for quality assurance. To ensure our outstanding QA we have a maximum manufacturing capacity of 250 tonnes per month, and batch sizes are kept to minimum.
Every batch of material manufactured is tested by a third-party laboratory before leaving our premises ensuring peace of mind for all concerned. Samples are cast and then dried at 110°C to determine Bulk Density and Cold Crushing Strength. PLC and ASTM Abrasion testing is done on request and on certain ACTCHEM™ products after firing to temperature.
